PARALYZED TO PEAKS

Paralyzed to Peaks is the most impactful project I’ve been a part of. This documentary is the story of a dear friend of mine, Jack Greener. In 2018, Jack was paralyzed from the neck down in a Jiu-Jitsu accident. I recall surfing with him just weeks before and hearing the news was devastating, something beyond belief. Jack was flown to Craig hospital in Denver for his best chance of any recovery where he would begin his next chapter. While sitting in his hospital bed, Jack made the decision in his mind that he would not only walk again, but summit Mt. Whitney, the tallest mountain in the lower 48. Against all odds and doubts from doctors, Jack underwent a miraculous recovery and walked again about a year later. In August of 2021, he became the first person with quadriplegia to summit Mount Whitney and his story landed a cover page of the LA Times magazine. That November, we hosted a film premiere in Encinitas and sold out the historic La Paloma Theatre. It was such a beautiful experience being able to bring Jack’s story to light and inspire people from not only the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) community but all walks of life.
